Change your bookings live on the website

31 October 2020

Now you can change your bookings live on the website. If you need to change your booking simply enter your booking number in the change booking box on the left (if you are logged in you only need to click on ?view details? and make your changes.

There are a few things you need to know:

  • you must change your booking at least 24 hours before the date of travel - this is so we can resell the seat to someone else
  • if the new seat is more expensive that the old seat you must pay the difference
  • if the new seat is less expensive, there is no refund
  • there is a 70c booking fee as usual
  • in addition there is a 70c change booking fee.

Apart from that it is simple to use.

Please note that we will no longer be able to change bookings via email or the 0900 phone service.

Pay by Internet Banking

29 October 2020

Now you can pay for your low cost® tickets using internet banking, This will be extremely useful for customers who don’t have credit cards.

We think this is a first for a transport service, at least in New Zealand. Look for other new features soon.

Credit cards are still the easiest way to pay as the transaction is instant - If you use internet banking, you need to wait for the money to clear (usually overnight) before you can buy a ticket.

You must be registered to use internet banking. When you are logged in just click on the internet banking link on the left hand side of the home page - you will be given full instructions and a reference code which you must put on your payment reference so we can identify it.

Remember that the price of tickets can go up so make sure you credit enough money to cover this, and you must also have enough money to cover the 70c booking fee.

As always we welcome feedback on this feature. Use the comment link below.

Holiday Timetable

24 October 2020

***UPDATE ***
Please note that we are not running any services on Christmas Day.

Services run as normal on other days apart from

  • Tauranga to Rotorua
  • Tauranga to Whakatane, Opotiki and Kawerau

which do not run on Public Holidays or weekends.

Rotorua to Tauranga from $1!

19 October 2020® is delighted to announce our latest new route - between Rotorua and Tauranga. We currently run twice daily, both ways in the morning and afternoon (Monday to Friday not public holidays).

All services run via Rotorua Airport, Bayfair and Mt Maunganui, bringing these places into the® network for the first time.

The service also runs through Te Puke.

What this also means is that customers from Tauranga can connect at Rotorua to our service to Taupo, Ohakune National Park, Whakapapa, Palmerston North and Wellington. Just book two trips - between Tauranga and Rotorua then Rotorua to your destination further south.

Unfortunately you can’t connect on the same day northbound yet - we are working on this.

You can connect to and from Taupo and the Hawkes Bay same day Tauranga to or from Napier - from $2 each way - unbeatable!
So our network is growing - check back soon for new additions!

And don’t forget, you can do all of this from one dollar!

Check out our pickup points

18 October 2020

If you are travelling from Wellington or Auckland, you don’t have to go to the central City to pick up our buses. In Wellington you can catch® at several stops including Porirua and Paraparaumu. Check the drop down list to find a location near to you,

In Auckland you can pick up our buses in Manukau and Takanini as well.

Just another way® is more convenient.

University Bus stops

18 October 2020

Our new University bus stops have been very popular (we stop right outside Auckland and Waikato Universities, also near Massey in Palmerston North and EIT in Taradale).

However it has presented some problems with stops that are in extremely busy locations. If you want to be picked up at one of these stops could you make sure that you look out for the bus and do not move away from the stop. Due to traffic the bus may be a few minutes late so don’t move away from the bus stop.

Please check the exact location of the bus stop on our times and stops page.

Thank you.

Wow… these are somewhat amazing prices!

14 October 2020

Wow, I just made a booking for next weekend from Auckland to Napier, and usually if I booked so late on the [competitor] service it would cost me $66, but I got my ticket from here for $23!! I also booked ahead for November and it cost me only $1!! I’m a Uni student so these are somewhat amazing prices, and I can afford to travel home! Cant wait to use this service, thanks for the low prices!

Booking engine down!

13 October 2020

Sorry, the booking engine is down. We are working on getting it up as soon as possible. Please check back in a few hours.

Update: The booking engine was back up shortly before Midnight. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Day One

9 October 2020

Well today was the first day of the full service, and we carried plenty of passengers who paid $1 or not much more for their trip.

The launch got coverage on National Radio - on the News and Afternoons with Jim Mora, plus it was picked up by NZPA.

We have had heaps of comments and support from the public. But maybe the funniest was the couple who turned up at the pick up point expecting the bus not to be there - they thought, well we’ve only paid $1.70 so it doesn’t really matter. When it did turn up,.and they found they could travel for $1 plus booking fee, they were so amazed they took pictures of the bus and a somewhat bemused driver.

No doubt they will help to spread the word! vs. [competitor] Price Comparison

8 October 2020

Of course, not all city to city bus tickets are $1, so how do we compare with the competition? We did a little test, trying to book between Auckland and Hamilton on Wednesday. The results were interesting. We looked for the cheapest fare available to an adult travelling one way. Here are the results:

[competitor] (cheapest) $13 (most expensive) $23 (cheapest) $1 (most expensive) $8

So, the choice is yours.

Great Service and Value for Money

Congratulations to the great bus driver who drove us to Napier from Hamilton on 30th May and home again on 3rd June. His timing was first class and our price of $20 return was unbeatable
