Now we are national - goes to the mainland!

31 January 2020

Thousands of South Islanders have emailed us about extending our low cost network to the mainland, and so today we are delighted to make this announcement:

From today,®’s network is going national. That’s right, you can now travel on nakedbus®.com in the South Island . We have a dozen new services between Nelson in the north and Queenstown and Dunedin in the South, Christchurch in the east and Greymouth in the west. Most services are daily, and fares start at $1 (plus booking fee) on all routes. At least 10% of all seats are only $1.

Remember you won’t find better value anywhere. We are delighted to bring our service to almost everywhere in New Zealand. Now almost nobody has to put up with the high prices of other operators.

Here are some of our daily services:

  • Nelson to Blenheim, Picton, Golden Bay, and Christchurch
  • Christchurch to Timaru, Oamaru, and Dundedin
  • Christchurch to Tekapo, Wanaka and Queenstown
  • Nelson to Westport and Greymouth

Find details at and click on the South Island.

…and Dargaville too!

Hot on the heels of our service to Whangarei, we are delighted to announce our new service to Dargaville. We operate 5 days a week between Auckland and Dargaville.

Go North! (as far as Whangarei, anyway)

11 January 2020

Well this has been one of our most requested destinations, and at last we bring you Whangarei! Or more precisely Whangarei to Auckland. We now have a daily service each way between Whangarei and Auckland.

In Whangarei we pick up in Kamo, central Whangarei and the Hospital. In Auckland, as well as our central stop we have new stops in Takapuna, Albany and Orewa.

We also stop at other locations such as Warkworth and Wellsford.

We are the first bus into Auckland in the morning, and we also have a convenient evening departure from Auckland returning to Whangarei.

And all from $1 (plus 70c booking fee).

You can also connect across Auckland to Hamilton, Tauranga, Rotorua, Taupo, Napier and Hastings, as well as other smaller places. You must buy a separate ticket for each leg.

We think this is a great addition to our network and we hope you agree!

The routes are operational from tomorrow.

Peaceful and comfortable

I liked the fact that the driver was not giving us a tour, unlike [competitor]! It was peaceful and comfortable.
