The University of Waikato

The University of Waikato strives itself as being a dynamic learning environment with excellent facilities. It is a relatively young university, only being opened in 1964, however it has formed a strong international reputation in that time. It has a special character linked to the Waikato region, its industries, enterprises, communities and iwi with whom they are partners and serve their interests.

The University of Waikato is more than simply acquiring knowledge; they find it is important for their graduates to be well-rounded and they encourage students to make the most of social, political, cultural and recreational opportunities that are available. The campus is the largest in New Zealand, with 68 hectares of ground, including plenty of sports fields, walkways and picnic spots. Today, the university is home to 13 500 students.
