Paraparaumu

Paraparaumu is a place full of excitement and things to do and the best way to get there is to catch a bus with nakedbus. This town is the main town on the Kapiti Coast and is known for its large Coastlands Soppingtown, which attracts shoppers from throughout the region, it is also known for its antiques. The large white statue of Our Lady of Lourdes overlooks the town and can be reached by walking track.

The activities in Paramaraumu include cheese tasting, a chocolate shop, horse riding, an emu farm, historic tramcars and a vintage car museum. A great place to go to buy Kapiti cheese and ice-cream is the Lindale Centre, which has a farm centre and boutique shops.

The Vintage Car Museum has the largest private collection of vintage cars in the Southern Hemisphere. Some of the cars on display are Marlene Dietrich?s Rolls Royce and a Chicago gangster?s amour-plated limo. A must see for all car enthusiasts.

Just north is the Otaki River, where you could go river rafting, tramping, and bush walking, farm-biking and high-speed fly by wire.
