Woodville is the ideal travellers stop, as it is halfway between Napier and Wellington. It is the gateway to three provinces, Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa/Wellington and Manawatu. As well as this, it is the gateway to the Manawatu Gorge, as it runs between the Tararua and Ruahine Ranges.

It is well known for its antiques and crafts and on the other hand, great fishing, hunting tramping and other outdoor adventures.

The Central Power?s Tararua Wind Farm is set high on the Tararua ranges and is the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. Near the Wind Farm there are the Clydesdale Wagon Rides, horse trekking, and other activities and attractions available. There are also bush walks and plenty of activities on the Manawatu River.

A replica studio is being built in the main street of Woodville in recognition of a great artist, Gottrfried Lindauer.
